Yeah, and lets all stop disagreeing with one another while we're at it. Face it, sure as the world turns, people will call each other one thing or another, and half the time it won't be friendly. Best to not demean entire populaces in those insults and stick to the tried and true neutral curses (asshole being one of many). Then again, I don't see "bitch" as an offensive insult to any one gender over the other.
Maybe it is the times I was raised in, or just my mentality when it comes to "offensive" words. There are very few actual words and insults I find offensive, and none of them are offensive to me. There are hate words "Nazi" "Nigger" "Faggot" etc, but none of these offend me. They're not meant to offend me (except maybe Nazi). They offend other people, entire groups of people. But "bitch" "cock" "asshole" "cunt" "fucker" etc don't offend me, and when they're spoken are more aimed at a single person than an entire group of people. I doubt very much anyone goes out saying "I hate all those dicks in the world." It is too vague. It doesn't carry the same meaning as a word like "faggot."

ReplyDeleteOh, certainly it's not ideal, but a woman can dream. Reasoning for you not "see[ing] 'bitch' as an offensive insult to any one gender over the other"?

ReplyDeleteInteresting insight; thanks for the input! (Let's see how many times I can start a word with 'in-'.)
